How to Apply

Selecting a school and applying for a place for your child can sometimes seem daunting but we hope that the information on this page will guide you.

Here at Tollgate Primary School building the foundations of learning is embedded within our curriculum. There are a wide range of opportunities available to our children to allow them to experience new things and enrich their learning.

Normal Year of Entry

Tollgate Primary School has a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 60 for entry into Reception. Suffolk County Council co-ordinates all Normal Year of Entry Admissions into Reception and communicates all admission decisions to parents.

► Your application must be with Suffolk County Council by Saturday 15 January 2022

The advantages of applying online are that you:

  • will receive confirmation of your application by email
  • can check or change your application right up to the closing date
  • can view the outcome of your application online on the offer day
  • will receive an email with details of your school offer on the offer day

If you prefer to complete a paper application this can be downloaded from the link below. The completed CAF1 form can be emailed to or posted to the address on the form – it is advised to get proof of postage.

► An offer of a school place will be sent out on Tuesday 19 April 2022 by Suffolk County Council.

In Year Applications

In-year applications should be made directly to Tollgate Primary School using the ADM1 form which you can download below. Please email or post the completed form to the School Office.


All applicants refused a place have a right of appeal to an independent appeal panel constituted and operated in accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code. Appellants should contact the Education Appeals Office on 01473 264218 or 264219.
