About Our French Curriculum
It is the intent of the french curriculum for our children to:
- develop French vocabulary
- develop confidence in simple conversations
- begin to read and write some in French
French is taught in years 3 and 4. It felt that frequent shorter lessons can allow for embedding the foundational content being taught. Vocabulary being taught can be used in casual moments during the day to help embed new knowledge (e.g., saying good morning in French for registration). French lessons will incorporate an aspect of revisiting, building new vocabulary and knowledge and an opportunity to practise. The culture of France will also be included into lessons over the year.
Please view the French Curriculum document available in the attachments section for more information and to see what our pupils will be covering this academic year.
