About Our Science Curriculum

It is the intent of the curriculum for our children to:

• develop confident and safe users of modern technology
• develop problems solving skills around using algorithms with and without technology

Computing is taught in the two day blocks allowing for a deeper immersion into the topics. This also allows for the school resources to be used wisely across the school. A key aspect of computing is online safety. As children begin to interact more and more online, it is critical for our children to learn ways of being safe online and how to interact with others online. Children will be provided the opportunity to develop skills in a variety of applications building a library of technical skills. In addition, it is critical that our children have the opportunity to use their problem solving skills and critical thinking skills to develop methods of coding.
